These Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks are a delicious and crispy snack that is easy to make at home. With a golden, crunchy exterior and gooey, melted cheese inside, these mozzarella sticks are a crowd-pleaser for any occasion.

Ingredients for Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks:

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 8 whole milk (or low-fat) mozzarella sticks

Instructions

  1. Do the prep work: Line a rimmed baking sheet with wax paper. Lightly beat the egg in a wide, shallow bowl.
  2. Combine seasoning and breadcrumbs: Mix Italian seasoning, salt, and breadcrumbs in a separate bowl.
  3. Coat and freeze mozzarella sticks: Dip sticks in egg, coat with breadcrumbs, place on baking sheet, and freeze for 1/2 to 1 hour.
  4. Coat and freeze again: Repeat coating process and freeze for another 1/2 to 1 hour.
  5. Air fry: Preheat air fryer to 390°F, spray basket and sticks with nonstick spray, air fry for 6-8 minutes until crispy.
  6. Serve: Cool briefly and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can spray the mozzarella sticks with cooking spray before air frying.
  • Make sure the mozzarella sticks are frozen solid before air frying to prevent them from melting too quickly.
