Ingredients for Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks:
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 8 whole milk (or low-fat) mozzarella sticks
Instructions
- Do the prep work: Line a rimmed baking sheet with wax paper. Lightly beat the egg in a wide, shallow bowl.
- Combine seasoning and breadcrumbs: Mix Italian seasoning, salt, and breadcrumbs in a separate bowl.
- Coat and freeze mozzarella sticks: Dip sticks in egg, coat with breadcrumbs, place on baking sheet, and freeze for 1/2 to 1 hour.
- Coat and freeze again: Repeat coating process and freeze for another 1/2 to 1 hour.
- Air fry: Preheat air fryer to 390°F, spray basket and sticks with nonstick spray, air fry for 6-8 minutes until crispy.
- Serve: Cool briefly and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra crispiness, you can spray the mozzarella sticks with cooking spray before air frying.
- Make sure the mozzarella sticks are frozen solid before air frying to prevent them from melting too quickly.
