Description

These Brownie Cupcakes combine rich chocolate brownie batter with moist, orange-colored white cake batter for a festive and delicious treat. Topped with the Best Buttercream Frosting and Halloween sprinkles, they are perfect for a unique holiday dessert that’s easy to make and sure to impress.

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Batter

  • 1 box Brownie Mix

Cake Batter

  • 1 box White Cake Mix
  • Orange Food Coloring, enough to achieve vibrant orange color

Frosting & Decoration

  • 1 batch The Best Buttercream Frosting
  • Halloween DIY Sprinkles
  • 20 Cupcake Liners

Instructions

  1. Prepare Brownie Batter: Mix the brownie batter according to the instructions on the brownie mix box until smooth and well combined.
  2. Prepare Cake Batter: Mix the white cake batter according to the directions on the cake mix box. Once mixed, add orange food coloring gradually until the batter reaches a vibrant orange hue.
  3. Fill Cupcake Liners: Place cupcake liners into a muffin tin. Add about one spoonful of brownie batter into each liner, filling each about one-third of the way.
  4. Add Cake Batter: Cover the brownie batter in each liner with orange cake batter, filling the liners about three-quarters full overall.
  5. Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the cupcakes for 15 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out mostly clean with only a few moist crumbs.
  6. Cool & Frost: Allow the cupcakes to cool completely in the pan, then frost generously with the Best Buttercream Frosting.
  7. Decorate: Sprinkle Halloween DIY sprinkles on top of the frosting for a festive finish.

Notes

  • These Brownie Cupcakes offer a unique twist by combining brownies and cake with frosting in one delicious cupcake.
  • For best results, ensure not to overfill the cupcake liners to avoid overflowing during baking.
  • Let cupcakes cool completely before frosting to prevent frosting from melting.
  • You can substitute the orange food coloring with other colors to suit different themes or occasions.
  • Using store-bought brownie and cake mixes makes this recipe quick and easy, perfect for last-minute celebrations.
