Description

These Star Crunch Rice Krispie Treats are a delightful twist on the classic Rice Krispie treats, with the addition of caramel, chocolate, and raisin puree. They are gooey, chewy, and utterly irresistible. Perfect for a sweet treat or a lunchbox snack!

Caramel Mixture:

  • 11 oz Kraft caramel bits
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (chopped into pieces)
  • 1/4 cup raisin puree
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup 1-minute rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (half semi-sweet & half milk chocolate)
  • 8 oz mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

Instructions

  1. Make the raisin puree: In a small food processor or blender, blend rehydrated raisins with reserved water until creamy. Set aside.
  2. Prepare workspace: Line a counter space with parchment paper.
  3. Melt caramel: In a large pot over low heat, melt caramel bits and butter.
  4. Add ingredients: Stir in raisin puree, cocoa powder, oats, chocolate chips until melted. Add marshmallows and vanilla extract.
  5. Incorporate Rice Krispies: Stir in Rice Krispies until coated.
  6. Form treats: Use a cookie scoop to form mixture into patties on parchment paper.
  7. Set and cool: Let treats sit until firm and cool. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • To make raisin puree, soak raisins in boiling water, blend until creamy.
