Ingredients

Units Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb. wild salmon fillets
  • Big pinch of salt and pepper

Spice Mix

  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon coconut sugar

Glaze

  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Broiler: Preheat your broiler on high to get it ready for cooking the salmon.
  2. Prepare the Salmon: Lightly oil the salmon fillets and place them on a rimmed baking sheet. Sprinkle a generous pinch of salt and pepper evenly over the fish.
  3. Make the Spice Rub: In a small bowl, whisk together chili powder, paprika, and coconut sugar. Evenly rub this spice mixture over the tops of the salmon fillets to build flavor.
  4. Cook the Salmon: Broil the salmon in the oven for about 8 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Apply the Maple Glaze: Remove the salmon from the oven and brush the pure maple syrup over the tops of the fillets. Return them to the oven and broil for an additional 1-2 minutes until the maple syrup bubbles and caramelizes.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Serve the salmon immediately while it’s warm, tender, and packed with a delicious balance of spicy and sweet flavors.
