  • 12 ounces linguine or spaghetti
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 to 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 1/2 cups milk (not skim) or heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • 1 cup freshly shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Chopped, fresh parsley, for garnish
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare Shrimp: Pat the shrimp dry and toss with paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Cook Pasta: Boil pasta until al dente, reserving pasta water before draining.
  3. Cook Shrimp: Sauté shrimp in butter and oil until cooked; set aside.
  4. Make Sauce: Sauté garlic, then add milk, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and Parmesan; stir until thickened.
  5. Combine: Toss cooked noodles in sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed. Add shrimp and parsley.
  6. Serve: Garnish with Parmesan and enjoy!
