Chicken and Seasoning
- 1 lb chicken breasts
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 TBSP ranch dressing seasoning
- 1 TBSP minced garlic
- 1 TBSP vinegar
- BBQ Sauce (Sweet Baby Ray’s recommended), enough to cover chicken
Slider Assembly
- (1) 12 pack of King’s Hawaiian Sliders
- Sliced Colby Jack Cheese (enough to cover slider bases)
- Shredded Cheddar Cheese (enough to top sliders)
- 6 strips cooked bacon
- 4 TBSP butter
- 1 TBSP ranch dressing seasoning (for butter mixture)
Instructions
- Prepare Crockpot: Spray the inside of a crockpot with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Add Ingredients: Place chicken breasts in the crockpot. Add minced garlic, vinegar, salt, pepper, paprika, and 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning over the chicken. Pour enough BBQ sauce to cover the chicken evenly.
- Cook Chicken: Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours until chicken is tender and fully cooked.
- Shred Chicken: Remove the chicken breasts and shred them using two forks. Return shredded chicken to the crockpot and stir well with cooking juices. Add more BBQ sauce if desired to enhance flavor and moisture.
- Prepare Sliders: Slice the King’s Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place sliced Colby Jack cheese on the bottom halves.
- Assemble Sliders: Layer shredded BBQ chicken over the cheese, then sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Add cooked bacon strips evenly across the sliders and place the top halves of the rolls over the fillings.
- Make Butter Mixture: Melt 4 tablespoons butter and stir in 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the slider buns.
- Bake Sliders: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place assembled sliders on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes or until cheese is melted and tops are golden and buttery.
Notes
- This recipe yields enough shredded BBQ chicken for about two 12-packs of sliders, so you can make extra sliders or save leftovers for another meal.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of BBQ sauce to your taste preference.
- Using King’s Hawaiian rolls provides a sweet and soft contrast to the savory filling, but you can substitute with your favorite slider buns.
- For extra crisp bacon, cook separately according to your preferred method before adding to sliders.
- The ranch seasoning in the butter topping adds a nice herby flavor that complements the BBQ chicken well.
