Description

Indulge in a nostalgic treat with this classic Dirt Pudding recipe. Layers of creamy pudding, whipped topping, and chocolatey crushed Oreos come together to create a deliciously fun dessert that’s perfect for any gathering or party.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Oreo Mixture:

  • 18 - 19 oz. Oreos (*SEE NOTE 1)
  • 6 Tablespoons salted butter (melted)

Pudding Layer:

  • 3 1/2 cups milk (whole or 2%)
  • 2 boxes instant French vanilla pudding (3.4 oz each *SEE NOTE 2)
  • 8 oz. cream cheese (softened to room temperature)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 ounces whipped topping (thawed)
  • Gummy worms (optional)

Instructions

  1. Crush Oreos: Place Oreos in a large ziplock bag and seal. Crush with a rolling pin or food processor. Mix in melted butter.
  2. Prepare Pudding: Whisk milk and pudding mix until thickened. Set aside.
  3. Make Cream Cheese Mixture: Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Fold pudding into cream cheese mixture, then stir in whipped topping.
  5. Assemble: Layer pudding and Oreo mixture in a serving container. Top with gummy worms. Chill for at least 4 hours.

Notes

  • Note 1: Use regular Oreos, not Double Stuf. Use 1 1/2 standard packages if needed.
  • Note 2: French vanilla pudding works best. If using cook and serve, cook and chill before using.
  • Note 3: Recipe variations include layering in a pan or trifle bowl.
  • Note 4: Store covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
