Ingredients
Scale
For The Christmas Chex Mix:
- 2 cups Rice Chex Cereal
- 2 cups Corn Chex Cereal
- 1 ½ cups Cheerios Cereal
- 2 ½ cups Gluten-Free Pretzels (preferably twists)
- 1 cup Salted Peanuts (just salted, not seasoned)
- 1 cup Red & Green M&Ms Candy (milk chocolate or peanut butter)
- 16 oz. Vanilla Almond Bark White Candy Melts, or White Chocolate Chips
Optional, To Decorate:
- 1-2 Tablespoons red and green sprinkles (nonpareils or jimmies)
- Flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Prep Your Station: Spread out a few sheets of parchment paper on a cookie sheet or your counter to prepare for setting the mix later. This will make cleanup easy and help the mix cool and harden evenly.
- Combine The Christmas Chex Mix Ingredients: Set aside half of the M&Ms for decoration. In a large bowl, combine rice Chex, corn Chex, Cheerios, gluten-free pretzels, half of the M&Ms, and salted peanuts.
- Melt The White Chocolate Coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the vanilla almond bark in 20-30 second intervals, stirring well after each until smooth and lump-free. Alternatively, melt using a stovetop double boiler.
- Drizzle & Stir: Pour the melted vanilla almond bark over the cereal mixture and quickly stir to coat everything evenly. Work fast as the coating will start to harden as it cools.
- Spread Out, Sprinkle & Cool: Transfer the coated mixture onto the prepared parchment paper and immediately sprinkle the reserved M&Ms and optional sprinkles over the top. Allow the mixture to cool and set, forming clusters of varying sizes.
- Serve & Store: Once set, enjoy the mix immediately or store it in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
Notes
- Hold back some M&Ms before mixing to add on top after coating for a prettier, colorful presentation.
- Adding red and green sprinkles provides a festive look without affecting flavor.
- For an extra special touch, dip some pretzels separately in melted almond bark, sprinkle with sprinkles, and let dry before mixing. This creates standout pretzels but is optional.
