Description

This flavorful Lamb Chops Marinade recipe features tender lamb chops seasoned with a garlic and fresh herb marinade, then pan-seared to perfection. The dish combines the savory richness of lamb with fragrant garlic, parsley, and rosemary, making for an easy yet elegant meal perfect for dinner gatherings or a special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Lamb Chops

  • 8 lamb chops, each approx. 1-inch thick
  • Salt and pepper, to season
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, for cooking
  • 2 tablespoon butter, for cooking

Instructions

  1. Season: Generously season both sides of your lamb chops with salt and pepper to enhance their natural flavor and prepare them for marinating.
  2. Prepare the garlic herb marinade: In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, fresh parsley, and fresh rosemary. Using a pastry brush, coat both sides of the lamb chops with this marinade. Discard any leftover marinade. Allow the lamb chops to marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  3. Cook: Heat a large cast-iron skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and swirl to coat the skillet’s surface. When the oil begins to smoke lightly, add the lamb chops in a single layer. Cook until lightly browned, about 3-4 minutes. Add the butter to the skillet, flip each lamb chop, and continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 125°F for medium-rare or 135°F for medium, using a digital meat thermometer.
  4. Rest: Remove the lamb chops from the skillet and let them rest for at least 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute, ensuring juicy meat.
  5. Serve: Serve the lamb chops with your choice of homemade mint chutney or any preferred dipping sauce. Enjoy your flavorful, perfectly cooked lamb chops!

Notes

  • If marinating for more than 30 minutes, cover and refrigerate the lamb chops. Bring them to room temperature before cooking for even cooking.
  • Marinate the lamb for up to 24 hours for deeper flavor infusion.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
