Description

A deliciously creamy and minty Grasshopper drink, perfect for dessert or a fun party treat. This indulgent drink combines vanilla ice cream, creme de menthe, creme de cocoa, and chocolate for a refreshing, dessert-like beverage that’s sure to impress your guests.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1/3 cup creme de menthe
  • 1/3 cup creme de cocoa
  • 10 ice cubes
  • 10 Andes mints

Garnishes

  • 34 ounces bar chocolate
  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate syrup

Instructions

  1. Melt Chocolate Mixture
  2. Add 3 ounces of bar chocolate, broken into pieces, into a small bowl. Microwave ½ cup of vanilla ice cream until it is melted and bubbling. Pour the melted ice cream over the chocolate and let it sit for 1-2 minutes. Stir well until the chocolate becomes smooth.
  3. Prepare Glass Rims
  4. Dip the rim of a large wine glass into the melted chocolate mixture. Allow any extra chocolate to drip off, then flip the glass over. Let it sit for about 15 minutes or until the chocolate sets.
  5. Blend the Grasshopper Mix
  6. In a blender, combine the remaining 4 cups of vanilla ice cream, creme de menthe, creme de cocoa, 10 Andes mints (broken into pieces), and 10 ice cubes. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and frothy. If the consistency is too runny, add a few more ice cubes and blend again.
  7. Assemble & Serve
  8. Pour the smooth blended mixture into the prepared glasses, ensuring not to smudge the chocolate-coated rims. Garnish with whipped cream, drizzles of chocolate syrup, and shavings from an Andes mint. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Chill your glasses beforehand for an extra refreshing touch.
  • If you want a thicker drink, replace the ice cubes with frozen whipped cream cubes or additional ice cream.
  • You can adjust the amount of creme de menthe if you prefer a stronger or milder mint flavor.
  • Andes mints provide a richer mint-chocolate flavor, but you can substitute with your favorite mint chocolates.
