Description

Enjoy a savory and satisfying meal with these Ground Beef Mongolian Noodles. Tender noodles are coated in a deliciously flavorful sauce made with ginger, garlic, soy sauce, and hoisin sauce, all mixed with browned lean ground beef. This dish is a perfect balance of sweet, salty, and savory flavors, topped with fresh green onions for a finishing touch.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Ground Beef:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 4 teaspoons fresh ginger, minced
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced

For the Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (can reduce to 1/3 or 1/4 cup)
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Additional Ingredients:

  • 10 ounces noodles (linguine, fettuccine, or spaghetti)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 medium green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Brown the Ground Beef: In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with ginger and garlic. Break up the meat as it cooks.
  2. Cook the Pasta: Cook noodles according to package instructions. Drain.
  3. Prepare the Sauce: Drain the ground beef, then return it to the skillet. Add soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, pepper, and hoisin sauce. Stir to combine.
  4. Thicken the Sauce: Dissolve cornstarch in water and add to the beef mixture. Bring to a low boil until slightly thickened. Add drained noodles and stir.
  5. Finish and Serve: Let noodles sit in the sauce briefly to absorb flavor. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions.
