Ground Beef Orzo:
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1/2 medium onion, chopped
- 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup uncooked orzo pasta
Tomato Cream Sauce:
- 1 (14 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 3/4 cup beef broth
- 1 cup heavy/whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups (packed) fresh baby spinach
- Salt & pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cook the Ground Beef: Add the ground beef to a soup pot/Dutch oven and cook over medium-high heat for 5-6 minutes, breaking it up with a spoon.
- Add Ingredients: Stir in onion, garlic, red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning, and orzo. Cook for about a minute.
- Make the Sauce: Add tomato sauce, beef broth, cream, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring often.
- Finish and Serve: Stir in Parmesan and spinach, cover for 3-5 minutes until thickened. Season with salt & pepper before serving.
