Description

Delicious and easy-to-make ham and cheese sliders featuring a savory honey mustard and poppy seed dressing, perfect as a party appetizer or quick meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Honey Mustard Sauce

  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Poppy Seed Butter Mixture

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 tablespoon honey-mustard mixture (from above)

Sliders

  • 12 slider buns
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 12 slices deli ham
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking.
  2. Make Honey Mustard Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the yellow mustard and honey until smooth and combined. Set aside.
  3. Prepare Poppy Seed Butter Mixture: In a medium bowl, whisk the melted unsalted butter, poppy seeds, and 1 tablespoon of the prepared honey-mustard mixture until fully blended. This will be brushed on top of the slider buns.
  4. Assemble Sliders: Slice the slider buns horizontally into halves. Place the bottom halves on the prepared baking sheet. Spread mayonnaise evenly over the bottom buns. Layer each with one slice of deli ham followed by one slice of Swiss cheese.
  5. Top and Add Poppy Seed Dressing: Spread the remaining honey-mustard mixture on the top buns. Place these top halves on top of the cheese layer. Using a pastry brush, evenly coat the tops of the buns with the prepared poppy seed butter mixture.
  6. Bake the Sliders: Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the buns turn golden brown.
  7. Serve: Remove from oven, slice the sliders if needed, and serve warm for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • These sliders are perfect as a party appetizer due to their convenient size and flavorful combination.
  • The homemade poppy seed dressing adds a unique and delicious twist that elevates a classic ham and cheese slider.
  • For variation, consider using different types of cheese or adding pickles for extra tang.
  • Serving immediately after baking ensures the buns remain soft and cheese is melty.
