Description

Honey Garlic Chicken Bites are tender, juicy chicken pieces coated in a flavorful honey garlic sauce with a hint of spice. These bite-sized morsels are perfect for a quick and delicious meal, served best over rice, pasta, or alongside your favorite veggies.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Coating

  • 1.5 pounds chicken breasts, chopped into bite-size pieces
  • 1/4 cup corn starch
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 5-6 cloves garlic, crushed or minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce or sriracha

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken: Pat the chicken pieces dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. In a large bowl, combine the chicken pieces with the corn starch, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well to evenly coat all the pieces.
  2. Cook the chicken: Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large heavy-duty pan over medium-high heat. Add the coated chicken pieces to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until the chicken is cooked through and has a light golden coating.
  3. Make the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the crushed garlic, olive oil, honey, lemon juice, soy sauce, and hot sauce or sriracha until well combined.
  4. Combine chicken and sauce: Pour the prepared sauce over the cooked chicken in the pan. Continue to cook for another 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken nicely. The longer you cook, the thicker and stickier the sauce will become.
  5. Serve: Remove from heat and serve the honey garlic chicken bites over rice, pasta, or with your favorite steamed or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
  • Freeze leftover chicken in airtight containers for up to 3 months; note that it may lose some texture and crispiness but will remain flavorful.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes and hot sauce according to your preferred spice level.
  • For a gluten-free option, substitute soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos.
