Ingredients
Scale
Chicken Wings Seasoning
- 3 – 4 lbs. chicken wings
- 1 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 2 tbsp. jerk seasoning (Grace’s or Walker’s Wood recommended)
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar
Jerk Sauce
- 4 tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/4 cup jerk seasoning
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp. parsley
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Wings: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. If using whole wings, separate each into drum and flat sections using a sharp knife to ensure even cooking.
- Season Wings: In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings with seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder, 2 tablespoons jerk seasoning, and 1 tablespoon brown sugar. Use your hands or a large spatula to thoroughly coat all wings evenly with the seasoning mixture.
- Bake Wings: Arrange the seasoned wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil. For even cooking and crispiness, place an oven-safe baking rack on the lined sheet and set the wings on the rack. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes until the wings are cooked through and skin is crispy.
- Prepare Jerk Sauce: While the wings bake, heat a skillet over medium to medium-low heat. Add the unsalted butter, ketchup, honey, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1/4 cup jerk seasoning, and apple cider vinegar. Stir the mixture and bring it to a simmer, allowing it to cook gently for 2 minutes to meld the flavors.
- Toss Wings in Sauce: Once the wings are done baking, immediately transfer them to a large bowl and pour the hot jerk sauce over them. Toss well to coat all wings evenly with the sauce.
- Serve: Garnish with parsley and serve the jerk chicken wings immediately alongside ranch dressing or your preferred dipping sauce for an irresistible appetizer or meal.
Notes
- Jerk Chicken Wings are loaded with delicious sweet and spicy flavors from traditional Jamaican seasoning.
- Separating whole wings into drumettes and flats helps them cook evenly and crisp up better.
- Using a baking rack allows excess fat to drip off and helps achieve a crispier skin.
- The jerk sauce is quick to prepare and adds a tangy, sticky coating that complements the wings perfectly.
- Serve with ranch or a cooling dipping sauce to balance the heat.
