Pasta
- 8 ounces (1/2 1 lb box) fettuccine or spaghetti
Sauce
- 4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
- 16 ounces sour cream, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese, divided
Garnish
- 1/4 teaspoon ground paprika
Instructions
- Prepare the Baking Dish
Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease an 8×8 baking dish with a baking spray. Set it aside for later. - Cook the Pasta
Follow the package instructions to cook the pasta until it is al dente, about 12 to 14 minutes. Drain the pasta and return it to the pot on the same burner you used. - Melt the Cream Cheese and Butter
Add the cream cheese and butter to the pot with the pasta. Stir continuously until both ingredients are completely melted and combined. - Make the Sauce
Stir in the sour cream, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, nutmeg, and half of the Parmesan cheese into the pasta. Mix well to evenly coat the noodles with the creamy sauce. - Assemble the Dish
Pour the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish. Evenly distribute the remaining Parmesan cheese over the top. Sprinkle paprika across the cheesy topping. - Bake the Dish
Bake the pasta uncovered in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the cheese on top is melted and the noodles are hot and bubbly. - Serve and Enjoy
Remove the baking dish from the oven. Serve the noodles warm, and enjoy this creamy and cheesy dish with your family or friends.
Notes
- This dish pairs wonderfully with a light green salad or garlic bread for a complete meal.
- For an extra cheesy flavor, you can add a mix of different types of cheese, such as mozzarella or Gruyere, to the topping.
- Nutmeg adds a subtle warmth to the sauce but can be omitted if you prefer a more traditional flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheated in the oven or microwave.
